About This Facility
The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) Molecular Biology Laboratory is a specialised laboratory facility that supports molecular analysis, GMO detection and identification, biosafety research, surveillance, and testing of biotechnology products. The laboratory provides molecular testing services and supports capacity building and training for researchers, students and scientists from research and higher-learning institutions. The facility operates under appropriate biosafety and containment requirements for molecular and microbiological work and contributes to Kenya’s regulatory oversight of genetically modified organisms and emerging biotechnology applications.
