About This Facility
The National Phytotherapeutics Research Centre (NPRC) is a specialised research and laboratory centre at Kenyatta University, School of Pharmacy, focused on the scientific investigation, quality assurance and development of plant-based medicines and phytotherapeutic products. Its work includes identifying medicinal plants, phytochemical screening, assessing the safety and efficacy of plant-derived products, microbiological analysis, quality control, analytical testing, and processing/upscaling of herbal products. The centre also supports training and research using advanced analytical techniques.
